Don't Stop Me Now - TLawrence's avatar

I can empathize with those who are in the spotlight for their jobs, but are constantly lambasted by strangers who think they know you - albeit well-meaning at the start. If you smile you encourage them, if you ignore them you anger them. There is no happy medium, and no privacy. I'm sure many would love to be ignored by the paparazzi, or not have to employ security to protect their families. That is why many movie stars have several homes, most secluded. I recall a story about Paul Newman, who lived in a small seaside village where everyone knew him and he blended in with them. When a tourist came upon him in an ice cream parlor he offered her a cone. When outside the crushing media most celebrities (unless they are total narcissists like the Kardashians and Trump) would be normal people - with a sense of humor, tempers, and all the emotions the rest of us have. When I look at their worlds I am glad I'm a nobody.
